Ancient Greeks, Romans and Arabs believed in lavender essential oil’s purifying properties and used it for wound healing. Recent review published in Phytotherapy Res. 2022 Jun;16(4):301-8: Biological activities of lavender essential oil. doi: 10.1002/ptr.1103 confirms that both scientific and clinical data support the traditional use of the plant. Positive effect on wound healing in animals has been shown by Adalet Koca Kutlu, et al., Evidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine, vol. 2013, Article ID 361832, 9 pages, 2013. To supports this further, lavender essential oil is evidenced as a promising antiseptic agent according to data published by Kwiatkowski et al., Molecules. 2019 Dec 26;25(1):95. doi: 10.3390/molecules25010095. PMID: 31888005; PMCID: PMC6982929. Zuzarte et al in the Journal of Medical Microbiology (2011), 60, 612–618, suggest that lavender essential oil may be useful in the clinical treatment of fungal diseases, particularly dermatophytosis and candidiasis. Positive impact of the lavender essential oil on sleep has been demonstrated in clinical study (Lillehei et. al., Explore (NY). 2016 Nov-Dec;12(6):427-435. PMID: 27659004). Lari, et al, J. Ethnopharmacology, vol 251, 6 April 2020, 112560 have shown that inhaled lavender essential oil facilitates better sleep in the diabetes patients suffering from insomnia. All scientific data support using the function of the organic lavender oil in the product.
